The Xrosswater walkway once assembled are immensely strong, lightweight, very durable and can be used in climates ranging from -40F to plus 120F. Our standard floating walkways are produced with aluminum frames, stainless steel fittings, FRP handrails and HMWPE floats.

The STANDARD DESIGN in aluminium offers the best value for money, strong, lightweight, clean lines, all pre-drilled offers a fast and easy to assemble option with excellent versatility and resilience in normal conditions. The unseen benefits are that the aluminium can be extruded anywhere in the world, which support investment and costs sharing factors (made in your country) which reduce freight costs even more. The aluminium is weldable and offers a significant recoverable value asset through re-melt when the walkway has come to the end of its use. The aluminium is such a manageable material, it allows for multiple configurations of the walkway, make platforms, “T” ends and attached frames for pump / utility platforms.

Xrosswater EXTREME Standard design with FRP / GRP frame.
Xrosswater “EXTREME” is a significantly more resilient model for highly corrosive water and severe climatic condition. With assistance from German manufacturers and Sandvik we now offer a model that combines Stainless steel and FRP offering a product that is corrosion proof and theft proof, which is important in locations where theft is possible.
Xrosswater Extreme, similar to STANDARD offers strong, lightweight, and an easy to assemble walkway for such pre-mentioned condition. The correct stainless steel fasteners have been selected that are hard enough to withstand the corrosion, withstand extreme thermal differences and assemble without galling. The sections are assembled with specialised stainless steel nuts and other unique non visible fittings.
Xrosswater FOLDING high buoyancy walkway
Designed for heavy loads in shallow water. Wide and shallow verses deep and narrow as deep and narrow cannot work easily in Mine Tailings or beach restoration or dredging operations. The folded option is a design that is over 3m (10ft) wide when unfolded and has double the buoyancy to support various pipes, cables or utility equipment. This design permits the product to be made offsite in an organised and secure location. The walkway is then folded to fit onto a truck FULLY ASSEMBLED 2.5m wide 15m long (8.5ft wide x 50ft long) and transported via normal flatbed truck to the user location.
This reduces onsite set up costs, on site labour costs and reduces the risk / liability of onsite ops.

Xrosswater Folding high buoyancy walkway with PIVOT feature
The Pivot option is a unique design that allows the walkway to bend and follow a dredger. The pivot of each 3.5m section can flex to approximately12 degree. This design was originally requested for a 600m walkway for SHELL OIL in Fort McMurrray Canada. We are proud to say that we designed and delivered the 600m within 6 months of initial request. It has also been used in Uranium mines as a flexible method of depositing waste material into tailings ponds and in locations where there is significant wave or wind conditions.
The pull load on the dredging pivot is 20,000kg which prevents the dredger from ripping the walkway structure apart.
